Great incentive

This is a great incentive for new homebuyers. I know it will help us greatly next year. You have to read the whole article to get the full effect. Even if your tax liability is only $5000, you can still take the whole $7,500. I know it doesn't take an accounting degree to realize that is a $2,500 credit. That is awesome.

Ahh, the joys of buying a house. We have the appraisal and inspection done. So hopefully we will be closing on February 20th. We are keeping our fingers crossed. We have alot to do. There are alot of little do-it-yourself things we have to do-make that Anthony has to do. More to come later.

As if our life wasn't already crazy enough, we throw buying a house in the middle of it and you have chaos! We looked at a house and made an offer all in the same day. So today we get up and go to Lafayette meet with a real estate attorney, then back to Rayne for the seller's wife to sign papers, then back to Lafayette to give them to the mortgage broker, back to Crowley to start dinner, back to Lafayette to sign mortgage papers, and finally back to Crowley. If my husband would have told me that we could sign the papers today, I would have made him stay. But that is besides the point now.

If everything goes right, we should be in a house by the end of February. Hopefully.

I finally loaded pictures off of my camera and hopefully will get them up tonight.

houses

Before Christmas break my husband decided it was time to start looking for houses. We have looked at a couple and found one that I like and Anthony did too at first. Well, to make a long story short, the guy didn't want to come down off the price at all and it was too high for the area. So a couple of weeks go by and in the mean time we decide to build instead of buy. Well, yesterday the real estate agent called and said that the guy would take what we were wanting to offer, but now Anthony doesn't want that house. UGH!!!!

We are going to look at another house this weekend. For those of you who don't know, we live in Crowley. There is a town 10 mins east of us called Rayne. We were looking for houses in Crowley because it's closer to ND. Well, the housing is wayyyyy more expensive in Crowley. Housing down here in general is wayyyyyyyyy wayyyyy more expensive than in AR. It has something to do with after the hurricanes Rita and Katrina. Anyways, it is really frustrating. We are pre-approved at 5% and are trying really hard to stay within our budget and the house we are looking at this weekend is well within our budget. I just wish my husband would make up his mind what he wants to do!!!!

Why I'm Here

My husband and I live several hours from my family. I started my blog so that my crew in Arkansas can keep up with my family, which recently went from a 2 member household to 3. I teach, and my husband coaches..... so I often have a lot to VENT as well!
